I am excited to announce that I will be joining Santa Monica as their new City Urban Designer beginning April 17.

Santa Monica has a long history of progressive planning, unparalleled resources to pursue their vision and attracts the world’s best architects to participate in that vision. This combination, along with Santa Monica’s outstanding commitment to urban design, is an opportunity too compelling to ignore – I am honored that the City has challenged me to expand this reputation and legacy.

As I look back my eleven year tenure with the City of Glendale, I am immensely proud of the work that I am associated with, whether it is the Downtown Specific Plan, Maryland Off Broadway Art & Entertainment District, the Community Plans, Space 134 Freeway Cap Park, mobility planning initiatives, outreach programs or individual projects – work that has won Glendale many awards, culminating in the “Best Agency” award from the California American Planning Association chapter. This recognition in particular is a reminder that the best asset of the Glendale Community Development Department is the staff, friends with whom I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with over the past decade.
