The goal of the Citywide Sign Standards is to establish a consistent and coherent family of environmental graphics for various purposes around Glendale, including Parks, Public Parking, Bike Routes and Vehicle Wayfinding signs. Creating new wayfinding signs is one the implementing programs of the Downtown Mobility Study. Adoption of the Sign Standards Manual occurred in 2011, with implementation at specific locations occurring as budgets and projects allowed.
As Principal Urban Designer at the City of Glendale, Alan Loomis was the lead urban designer and primary author of the scope of work for the Citywide Sign Standards, which was created by Hunt Design.
