Of all of Paris's boulevards, plazas and squares, the one I most wanted to see on my first visit to the City of Light was Places des Vosges. It did not disappoint. The Artesia Downtown Specific Plan by @placeworksinc was adopted this week on July 14 2025, anticipating the new Southeast Gateway Metro Rail line connecting Artesia with Los Angeles Union Station. Just under 100 acres in total area, the Specific Plan anticipates nearly 2000 new residential units in various urban development typologies, fulfilling a significant portion of the City’s housing element obligations. South of the future rail station, the plan a imagines new mixed-use neighborhood on either side of South Street, anchored by a project proposed by @andmore_partners.
